It was the first time that most of us flew to anywhere since the pandemic began. It felt strange to be at the airport, and everything felt a littel more tense at the San Diego Airport, with most people wearing masks. On my first stop at Newark, it seems more lively and casual, i.e., less number of people seems to wear masks. On my second stop at Orly, most people just don't wear masks. It's odd, but a good sign, I think. At the same time, I wonder if COVID-19 is really behind us, and if we should worry about it at all.
After 26 hours and 2 flight changes in Newark and Orly, I finally arrive in Biarritz, France, at 8:11pm local time.
There's only 1 restaurant open in the area past 9pm, and it's Italian... Luckily, the pizza was excellent!
In the meantime, the rest of family members arrive in San Sebastián from everywhere.
My oldest sister and her husband visited Paris first and then stayed with a sister in the UK (Kwangmi, or KM) with Jieun and MK who had been there since early August. They flew to Madrid to join William, and then to fly to San Sebastián together.
